What do you get when you mix a church choir singer turned opera with a dream to be a rockstar? You get Keyse, a pop-rock band from North Carolina currently living in the Midwest. Trauma Bond, their debut album, is set to drop on July 25, 2025. As the release date approaches, the final three singles will begin to drop.
“Let You Down” is set to be the next single. I had the pleasure of listening to the song prior to its release. The strong vocals in the song are impactful from the start. Her voice feels raw and natural while maintaining a crisp and clean sound. Coupled with a lyrical composition that feels straight from the heart, the track will hook you more as it unfolds.
The music complements the vocals perfectly. They add to the dark-reflective mood the song brings to the listener. It slows down the pace and picks it up at all the right moments, never detracting from the vocals.
My Recommendation: Add or Skip
Keyse’s “Let You Down” is one that I recommend you add to your library. The strong-clean vocals and complementary instrumentals make this a song anyone will enjoy, even my mother, who isn’t a fan of rock heavier than an ’80s Hair Band.
